Better Late Then Never...

Mothers Day

We had a great get together for Mother's Day this year which included my mom, great grandma, brother as well as Steve's mom and grandpa. Quite the crew- let me tell you!

Both mom's and Grandmie enjoyed their gifts!

My mom and Steve's grandpa took one of the CUTEST pictures I have seen in quite some time... I just had to share!

After a yummy meal, exchanging gifts and lots of chatting, we took some time to take a bunch of family snapshots.

Wonderful Mom's, Grandparents, Delicious food--if I do say so myself--great conversations, and lots of wonderful pictures to capture the memories of Mothers Day 2010.

Sushi Night!

We finally got the gang together, this past Saturday (May 8th), after far too much time! And to our surprise, Chris- Kara's husband- offered to have us over for a sushi lesson/meal. Steve was quite surprised about this, but took it head on like a champ!

Steve taking a stab at making a sushi roll, with a few pointers, it turned out great!

He was a bit nervous to try it, but in the end I think he enjoyed it! Who knows if he'll eat it again, but at least he had a good time!

In the meantime, Jake-Whitney's husband- made quite a few sushi rolls, let's just say-- he likes to make sure the appearance would be considered customer worthy!

Great job Jake! Oh, but he didn't stop there, he tried--and succeeded-- in making an inside out sushi roll!

We also had Sake!

Combine all of this with cute dishes, great conversation a few adult beverages and you've got yourself a great night with great friends!

Day Date

Sunday started off with a nice drive, just Steve and I, up Larch Mtn. for a shooting date.

We're so madly in love! ♥

It was a great mini-getaway for us. We had the opportunity to enjoy each others company, spend some time in the fresh air and laugh at my shooting skills. Unconventional dates are the best! Thanks babe!

Putting Things to Rest

After a LOOOOOOONG 12 weeks working a Long-Term Sub Job, Friday April 30th, I finally put that job to rest. It was a great learning experience and I wouldn't have traded all that I was taught and taught for the world. Thank you Monica for having your baby!!

Weekends in our opinion go by WAAAAAAAAAAY too fast! Steve has Sunday's and Monday's off, so as a treat to myself, this weekend I took Monday off with him... And now we are putting our weekend to rest. We thought we had our bed sold (didn't turn out to be the correct size as the couple had wanted... should I be checking Steve's Craig's List posts??) Kind of a bummer, but when it's meant to be it'll happen. Spent a quality date day up on the mountain shooting, got our errands all taken care of, and even had time to relax with a movie (which is nearly unheard of in our life).

Steve is currently at his Monday evening ritual-- drill for the fire district... My motherly duties are officially completed, dogs have been tucked in and put to rest for the night...

As I listen to them snore already (yes it usually only takes a few moments) it is time to grab a good book and curl up to read (something that is also a bit unheard of in my life lately) while I await the arrival of my cuddle buddy. ♥

Teachable Moment

A while back I taught my students about the word KARMA.. they've proven to me that it was a bad idea.

Here is why...

Yesterday I came to work with a few battle wounds from the night before. A paper cut across my thumb from opening a coupon book, a scratched up ankle from Steve's watch, then a slice across my finger- also from Steve's watch and lastly, a large bump on my head accompanied by a headache from banging my head into the dresser in our hallway. I proceeded to tell my students about my story, mainly focusing on the point that I had a headache.

Their response: "Ms Hunter, that was your KARMA for giving us homework last night!"

Remind me to never, ever tell anyone about KARMA again....

Graduation!!!

Please extend your congratulations to Izzy and Zeus, they are now proud graduates having earned their Associates Degree in Doggie Training!

Some days were better than others when it came to functioning and learning in a classroom environment. All four of us had a good time every Wednesday night for the past 6 weeks; it was a real family affair. Loading the dogs up, making sure we had all of our supplies, and trying to teach Izzy to take after her big brother and climb into the back of the truck on her own. We've got her to at least put her front paws up, but have realized that her back legs are just not quite strong enough to push the rest of her body into the truck. It's a start at least!

In a sense, we are happy to gain our Wednesday nights back, but I think if we were both being honest, we are going to miss it a little bit. It was a fun and valuable learning experience.

Now maybe onto learning some fun tricks? Or a Bachelors Degree?

Just Another Manic Monday....

Mondays seem to come quicker and quicker these days... Is there any way to make them slow down?!
*Although I am basically complaining that my weekend went by too fast and I am not happy with the fact that I am at work while my man enjoys his typical Monday off without me, I am feeling very energized and tackled the day head on, unlike most Mondays and days in general. This I am happy about!

BINGO!
Last night Steve and I joined some members of his family and went to the local bingo hall. It was a blast!!! I have always had a secret love for bingo, but have never really revealed it to anyone, until I knew that Steve would accept me. (gotta love him for that!) We had tickets coming out our ears last night! And during some points of the night it was almost impossible to keep up! Our score by the end of the night:

Steve: $25 Sabrina: $0

Oh well, it was fun! We definitely plan to go again! (or at least I do, and Steve will find out soon enough!)
