Teachable Moment

A while back I taught my students about the word KARMA.. they've proven to me that it was a bad idea.

Here is why...

Yesterday I came to work with a few battle wounds from the night before. A paper cut across my thumb from opening a coupon book, a scratched up ankle from Steve's watch, then a slice across my finger- also from Steve's watch and lastly, a large bump on my head accompanied by a headache from banging my head into the dresser in our hallway. I proceeded to tell my students about my story, mainly focusing on the point that I had a headache.

Their response: "Ms Hunter, that was your KARMA for giving us homework last night!"

Remind me to never, ever tell anyone about KARMA again....

Graduation!!!

Please extend your congratulations to Izzy and Zeus, they are now proud graduates having earned their Associates Degree in Doggie Training!

Some days were better than others when it came to functioning and learning in a classroom environment. All four of us had a good time every Wednesday night for the past 6 weeks; it was a real family affair. Loading the dogs up, making sure we had all of our supplies, and trying to teach Izzy to take after her big brother and climb into the back of the truck on her own. We've got her to at least put her front paws up, but have realized that her back legs are just not quite strong enough to push the rest of her body into the truck. It's a start at least!

In a sense, we are happy to gain our Wednesday nights back, but I think if we were both being honest, we are going to miss it a little bit. It was a fun and valuable learning experience.

Now maybe onto learning some fun tricks? Or a Bachelors Degree?

Just Another Manic Monday....

Mondays seem to come quicker and quicker these days... Is there any way to make them slow down?!
*Although I am basically complaining that my weekend went by too fast and I am not happy with the fact that I am at work while my man enjoys his typical Monday off without me, I am feeling very energized and tackled the day head on, unlike most Mondays and days in general. This I am happy about!

BINGO!
Last night Steve and I joined some members of his family and went to the local bingo hall. It was a blast!!! I have always had a secret love for bingo, but have never really revealed it to anyone, until I knew that Steve would accept me. (gotta love him for that!) We had tickets coming out our ears last night! And during some points of the night it was almost impossible to keep up! Our score by the end of the night:

Steve: $25 Sabrina: $0

Oh well, it was fun! We definitely plan to go again! (or at least I do, and Steve will find out soon enough!)

Dear Mother Earth,

Would you be so kind to send some warm weather and sun our way? This hail, snow, and wind you've graced us with is completely unnecessary. Thank you for your consideration.

With gratitude,
Sabrina

Repeat

There are definitely days where I feel a repeat of Spring Break is MUCH NEEDED! I'm not sure why, but I feel like I need to be at home doing something rather then working... Couldn't tell you what I'd do there, but I just know that I am needed at home, not at work. But it would be nice if someone would continue to pay my bills while I am at home... I doubt this will be happening any time soon. Welcome to the real world Sabrina, right?

Well as another weekend finally approaches, I find myself feeling at ease knowing I get a small break. I don't know if it was exhaustion, lack of something or just a plain bad attitude that kept me from wanting to be back in the swing of things, but whatever it was/is, I am ready for it to leave!

We received our Herbalife package the other day, and have since been making shakes and tea and drinking our aloe every morning. Steve has made comments about feeling great! I love the shakes in the morning, makes me feel full for most of the day. And the warm tea is definitely a great way to start the morning. I've been having a few headaches though-- a result of coffee withdrawls possibly? Other then that... we're both feeling great! We've got a new outlook on our health and it's going to be wonderful! We have a meeting Sunday for a body scan.. this could be interesting.. what are our bodies really like?!

I wish I could say...

..I meant to take a 3+ month hiatus on purpose, but unfortunately, I cannot. The truth is, I got busy, life caught me like a fish with a hook in it's mouth and I couldn't break free. Something you must know though, this was not a bad thing.. I enjoyed my mini-accidental-hiatus!

I'm not going to pretend to reminisce on the past 3 months, instead I am going to focus on the present.
I've been working like a dog lately. My long-term sub job has been keeping me very busy over the past few months, and it's hard to believe that I only have a few more weeks left. Currently it is spring break (which was a much needed break from working) so when I return I will have about 3-4 more weeks left of the position, then it's back to the regular grind of finding those random jobs. As well as back to regular sub pay (boo!). Spring break, I as I mentioned has been a great and much needed break from working. I've been taking a lot of "me" time, catching up with the DVR, reading books, playing games on Facebook and now getting back to the Blog. The dogs have been enjoying me being home as well... here's something to prove it.

Speaking of my furry kids, a few weeks ago we started doggie-school. They've been (attempting) to learn things such as sit, down, come and how to walk on a leash. Some days are better then others- I'll leave it at that... We do have fun though, and it makes for a good nights sleep after class for the furry ones.

I've recently taken on a new venture as an Herbalife Distributor. More to come on that venture later. We're taking it slow, getting started and both are very excited to start a new lifestyle and feel better about our day to day life.

Here's to making a conscious effort to keep in touch, hang in there with me. ♥
